The Makita BS002GZ 40Vmax XGT Brushless 1-9/16" x 30" Pipe Belt Sander is a high-performance cordless sanding and polishing tool designed for precision work on curved surfaces, round stock, and metal pipe. Engineered to deliver corded-level performance, this XGT pipe belt sander combines a powerful brushless motor with variable speed control for professional grinding, polishing, rust removal, and surface preparation.

Powered by Makita’s 40Vmax XGT platform, the BS002GZ delivers high work efficiency and a wide range of belt speeds to match the application. The variable speed dial allows smooth polishing at lower speeds and aggressive rust, paint, and material removal at higher speeds, giving users excellent control across multiple metalworking tasks.

Designed for curved surface applications, the tool supports grinding on metal pipes up to 5" / 125 mm diameter. Roller guides with raised edges help minimize belt disengagement during use, improving control and consistency when sanding around pipe and rounded materials.

Advanced electronic features help improve performance and tool protection. Constant speed control maintains speed under heavy load, soft start reduces startup shock, and the electronic current limiter helps protect the motor from overload. The anti-restart feature helps prevent accidental startup when changing batteries if the switch is locked on.

Built for demanding jobsite and shop environments, the BS002GZ features XPT™ eXtreme Protection Technology for improved resistance to dust, debris, and liquids. AWS® Auto-Start Wireless System compatibility uses Bluetooth® technology to communicate with compatible Makita dust extractors for wireless vacuum activation.
