The Makita VL001GZ 40Vmax XGT Brushless Concrete Screed delivers cordless performance comparable to gas for demanding concrete leveling, tamping, and finishing applications. Designed for professional concrete contractors, this lightweight and maneuverable screed combines a high-output brushless motor, shaft-driven vibration system, and Makita XGT cordless technology to help produce consistent slab finishes without the hassle of fuel or cords.
Powered by a 40Vmax XGT brushless motor, the VL001GZ delivers up to 11,000 vibrations per minute for fast, efficient leveling and surface finishing. The vibrating blade helps settle aggregate and evenly distribute cement paste, supporting improved surface strength and helping reduce cracking during the finishing process.
Built for long pours and extended operation, the screed delivers up to 150 minutes of continuous runtime with a BL4040F battery, covering a large area up to approximately five tennis courts. For even longer runtime on large-scale concrete jobs, the tool is also compatible with Makita portable power packs.
The lightweight 5.3–6.2 kg design and shaft-driven vibration system provide excellent control while reducing operator fatigue. A wide rubber grip helps reduce vibration to the hands and allows multiple grip positions for improved comfort, while the lock-on button supports continuous operation during extended use.
The VL001GZ accepts optional interchangeable screed blades in 35", 55", and 70" widths, allowing users to match the blade size to the job. Tool-less blade installation and removal with the quick-lock lever system helps improve productivity, while washable screed blades make cleanup easier after concrete work.
Makita’s XPT™ Extreme Protection Technology provides enhanced resistance to dust and water in harsh jobsite conditions. Additional features include constant speed control for uniform finishing, anti-restart protection, and a switch cover to help prevent concrete and debris from interfering with operation.
